Removal of Heavy Metal Ions Using Magnetic Materials

نویسندگان

چکیده

Heavy metal ions contaminate water environment through point sources and nonpoint sources. are categorized as inorganic contaminants by both the WHO USEPA. The heavy increasingly being introduced into pollutants resulting from human activities. Magnetic particles for treatment applications have received considerable attention researchers due to high separation efficiency. magnetic behave similar or even better than various commercial adsorbents. also exhibit selectivity target besides enabling ease of operation reducing particle steps flowing stream. A comprehensive systematic understanding synthesis surface modifications is significant enhance their practicability in environmental technology. Although removal performance reactivity can be achieved smaller size, stability, toxicity, recovery magnetically could challenging. In contrast, active may forfeited, while stabilize reduce toxicity particles. Reliable necessarily needed increment number sites remove metals. For successful particles, modification on principally crucial balance effects reactivity, capacity, reusability.

Kinetic study of heavy metal ions removal from aqueous solutions using activated pumice stone

Background: The presence of heavy metals in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems causes harmful effects to living organisms in the environment. This research aimed to determine the potential of activated pumice stone (APS) as a sorbent for the removal of Cd, Cu, and Zn from wastewater. Methods: This research was conducted during 2013 on a laboratory scale. The study was performed using batch exp...

Heavy Metal Removal Using Dithiocarbamates

ajor emphasis is placed today on treating plating solutions and rinsewater to reduce the concentration of toxic metals to below established limits prior to discharge or water reuse. Available technology is adequate for partial treatment of most wastewater; however, new technology is needed to scavenge heavy metals from complexed or chelated compounds in rinsewater. Several report^^-'^ from this...

Highly efficient catalyst for removal of heavy metal ions modified by a novel Schiff base ligand

An alomina-based nano adsorbent was prepared by modification of the external surface of γ-alumina (γ-Al2O3) nanoparticles with functional groups of a new Schiff base 4-[(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-amino]-5-methyl-2,4-dihydro-[1,2.4]triazole-3-thione] “L”. In order to the removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions, we used the reaction of the sodium dodecyl sulfate coated nano-alumina with L...
